Hair Talk - the podcast

It's safe to say that in every episode you will hear the passion that ShimiliaB has for textured hair shine through.

Season one , the genesis of the movement to bring awareness to the unique experiences of women with textured hair. She invited her clients from Trinidad to hold sacred space and share their unique experience from their lens. From natural hair being acceptable, to seasonal hairstyle based on the nations festivities, we discovered that Trinidad's culture does indeed have an influence of the experience of women with textured Hair

In Season 2, she unveiled a new lens, Hair Education, from the lens of the student. Immersed in formal education at the time, Shimilia hand picked then current students to share their expectations going in, their actual experience and their takeaways on what could be better. As an educator herself, Shimilia came face to face with advocacy for a strengthened textured hair curriculum within the then institute, which was not prioritized and paths diverged.

Lend an ear for a brief moment and you will lock in to the conversations that bring the multiverse of the textured hair experience to the forefront. We are eager for these ongoing conversations and the light it will shine on the sacred space of Textured Hair.
